Asher’s Pizza Party was born out of one of the hardest seasons of our lives. There was a time when our family was struggling financially, and we only had enough to give our son Asher the bare minimum. One day, we pulled into a local convenience store simply to fill our cups with free water so atleast we could have drinks. Sitting in that parking lot, my wife was overcome with emotion. Through tears, she shared how heartbroken she felt as a mother because we couldn’t even afford to buy our son a single slice of pizza. Something that felt like such a simple part of childhood. It was a painful moment, filled with worry and uncertainty.

As my wife walked into the store to fill our cups, something incredible happened. Before she could even get to the fountain, a woman working behind the counter approached her and asked, “Would you like a free slice of pizza?” My wife immediately said yes, grabbed the slice, and rushed outside to give it to Asher. In that moment, God answered a prayer that no one else had heard. A prayer that wasn't even spoken. It reminded us that God sees our struggles, hears our cries, and cares about even the smallest needs in our lives. In that moment we knew God hears us always. It doesnt have to be pretty, wordy, or even in a church. That simple slice of pizza became so much more than food—it became a powerful reminder of God's love for us in every season.

As the weeks went by, we began sharing our testimony with others. We told people about the day God provided for our family through the kindness of a stranger. Something unexpected started to happen. People began feeling moved to send us money. Something we weren't asking for. Everytime they sent money they labeled their gifts as “buy asher some pizza.” The more we shared the story, the more we realized that God was showing us something much bigger than our own situation. We discovered how something as simple as a slice of pizza could affect people in bigger ways than we knew. Much like that lady at wawa handing my wife the pizza we knew there was something we had to do.

That realization became the foundation of Asher’s Pizza Party. Our heart is to bless people who may be facing difficult circumstances, just as we once were. We never know who is going through a hard time, who hasn’t had a good meal, or who simply needs to know that someone cares. We want to surprise families, individuals, and children with pizza and acts of kindness that remind them they are seen, valued, and loved. Sometimes the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference. We want to be the hands for Christ.

The vision for Asher’s Pizza Party continues to grow. What started with one slice of pizza has become a dream of bringing entire communities together. Our goal is to host free pizza parties and community block parties in low-income neighborhoods, creating safe and joyful spaces where families can gather, eat, laugh, and build relationships. Through music, games, fellowship, and plenty of pizza, we hope to share the love of Jesus in a practical way. Asher’s Pizza Party is more than just giving away food—it is about bringing hope, building community, and showing people that God still hears prayers and works through ordinary acts of kindness to do extraordinary things.
